March 20, 2010 in ACTIVITY
Yoga is an ancient discipline that originated in India there are thousands of years. It is both a science and an art of living, exercise and philosophy. He has many fans in Asia but in recent years experienced increasing success in our Western countries increasingly seduced by the gentle and relaxing activities.
.
He is best known for its strange acrobatic postures and the famous lotus position, yoga is actually a mixture of disciplines involving both body and mind. The most conscientious will combine same hygienic food (vegetarian) and a disciplined life of asceticism inspired the ancients. You can still choose to practice yoga for its purely physical benefits. It is then a series of exercises called “asanas”. Each “asana” consists of three phases: one takes the position it holds, and is relaxed, breathing slowly and deeply. The work on breathing and breath, “pranayama” is essential to enable the body to hold and move energy. Relaxation exercises and meditation, to perform at the end of each session or separately, are intended to lead to inner peace.
At the end of a yoga session, you will feel not only relaxed but energetic. The postures relax the spine and joints, tone muscles, endocrine glands and internal organs. You will feel effects from the first session. Although at first it is the physical postures which have the most impact, the practice makes it ultimately more aware of the movement of “prana” (vital energy), and the importance of ’proper breathing ( “pranayama”). This, we tend to neglect, provides oxygen abundance in the blood, keeping the body healthy and the brain more alert.
